You Have Questions
We have answers.
Most commercial lotions are 60-80% water. That water needs preservatives to stay stable, and it dilutes every active ingredient in the formula. Our body creams are anhydrous — meaning no water at all. Every ingredient is a working ingredient. No fillers, no preservatives, no emulsifiers to force oil and water together. Just concentrated organic oils, butters, and botanicals that go directly to work on your skin. A little goes a long way.
Every ingredient in our Acne-Prone formula was chosen for a specific reason. Jojoba oil mimics your skin's natural sebum and helps regulate oil production. High-linoleic safflower oil addresses a documented deficiency in acne-prone skin — research shows acne-prone skin is low in linoleic acid, and topical application helps restore that balance. Borage oil delivers gamma-linolenic acid, an anti-inflammatory omega-6 that helps calm reactive, inflamed skin. Kaolin clay absorbs excess sebum throughout the day. This isn't a generic moisturizer with an acne-friendly label — it's a formula built around the science of acne-prone skin.
Borage oil is pressed from the seeds of the borage plant and has one of the highest concentrations of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) of any plant oil — around 20-24%. GLA is an omega-6 fatty acid that the body converts into anti-inflammatory compounds. Research shows that GLA deficiency is linked to inflammatory skin conditions including acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Topical application helps reduce redness, calm inflammation, and support the skin barrier in reactive skin types.
High-linoleic safflower oil has one of the highest concentrations of linoleic acid of any carrier oil — around 70-80%. Research has shown that acne-prone skin is specifically deficient in linoleic acid and has excess oleic acid. This imbalance contributes to the formation of comedones. Topical application of linoleic-rich oils helps restore that balance, reducing pore congestion over time.
It's formulated specifically not to. Jojoba oil has a molecular structure nearly identical to human sebum — skin absorbs it readily without pore congestion. High-linoleic safflower oil is non-comedogenic. Borage oil is well tolerated by acne-prone skin. The kaolin clay and arrowroot powder help absorb excess oil rather than adding to it. We recommend a patch test first, but this cream was built from the ground up for acne-prone skin.
Scoop a small amount — about the size of a dime — and warm it between your palms before applying. Because the formula is concentrated, less is more. Apply to clean skin after showering for best absorption. The cream will feel rich initially and absorb fully over several minutes, leaving skin soft and nourished without a greasy residue.
Juicy cherry up front, rose and jasmine in the middle, and something warm and woody underneath that makes you want to smell it again.
No — our body creams contain organic beeswax, which gives them their smooth, protective texture. They are not vegan. If you're looking for a vegan option, all of our bar soaps are 100% plant-based.
Each body cream comes in an 8 oz amber glass jar. The amber glass protects the formula from light degradation, and the glass jar is reusable and recyclable. At concentrated anhydrous formulas, 8 oz goes significantly further than a conventional lotion of the same size.
With daily use on hands and body, expect 4-6 weeks from a single jar — though this varies depending on how much you apply and which areas you focus on. Because the formula is concentrated, you need less than you would with a conventional water-based lotion.
We process and ship orders within 3-4 business days. Most packages arrive within 1 week of the ship date. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order is on its way.
Yes — our creams are made in small handcrafted batches, so slight variations in texture and appearance are completely normal and do not affect quality or performance.
